Drink driver who crashed into bollard was nearly four times the legal limit

A drink driver who crashed into a bollard in South Yorkshire had nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in his breath, police have revealed.

South Yorkshire Police today shared this photo of the crash in Barnsley and said when the driver was tested ‘they blew a staggering 126 at the roadside’.

The alcohol limit for drivers in England is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

Officers said blood had subsequently been taken from the driver to be sent for analysis.
