Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 12 how Aimee Dooler, aged 26, was involved in the collision with two other vehicles at traffic lights on Netherthorpe Road on February 1.

David Marshall, prosecuting, said a Suzuki car driven by Dooler crashed into a stationary driver at traffic lights and in turn pushed this vehicle into another one.

Dooler pleaded guilty to exceeding the drink-drive limit after registering 76 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 35 microgrammes.

Philip Jones, defending, said Dooler co-operated with police and, despite a report that one of the drivers had to be cut free, Mr Jones claimed there were no serious injuries.

Dooler, of Foster Street, Barnsley, was fined £120 and must pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
