Dramatic moment thug who attacked Sheffield postman wrestled to ground by police

Viewers of this week’s 999: What’s Your Emergency?. the reality TV show which goes behind the scenes at South Yorkshire Police, saw the man taken out by two officers after he was arrested inside a city convenience store following the incident.

The Channel 4 programme revealed the postie had been assaulted by two males and told to empty his pockets while out on his rounds last year at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last March.

Officers were filmed giving chase through nearby parkland before one of the raiders was cornered in a shop then dragged outsided and wrestled to the ground as officers arrested him.

At the end of the show, it was revealed that no further action was taken against the arrested man, but it was announced he was serving a one year sentence for burglary.
