Doorstep attack by youths leaves Sheffield woman seriously hurt

A woman was left with serious injuries after two youths attacked her at her Sheffield home.

The 55-year-old answered the door to two teenagers before they demanded money and seriously assaulted her.

She was taken to hospital after the attack at her home in Mason Lathe Road, Shiregreen, which happened at about 9.55pm on May 30.

The youths are thought to be 16 to 18-years-old.

Police are urging anyone with information, ‘however apparently insignificant’ to come forward.

The first youth was described as black with medium build with short, tight, wiry black hair and an oblong-shaped face.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood down, dark blue jeans and black trainers.

The second is slightly taller and older, with slim build, short black hair and dark brown eyes.

He was wearing a dark hooded top zipped up to his chin, dark trousers and black trainers.

Detective Constable Chris Campbell said: “This was a terrifying attack on a woman in her own home and I would urge members of the public to get in touch if they have any information whatsoever, however apparently insignificant.”
