Doncaster murder probe continues after shooting as detectives quiz three suspects

Detectives are today continuing to investigate the murder of a young man shot dead in a Doncaster street.

A murder probe was launched after 20-year-old Lewis Williams was killed close to the Farmfoods store on Wath Road, Mexborough, at around 4.30pm on Monday.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three arrests were made yesterday, with two boys – aged 16 and 17 – and a 20-year-old man still in custody last night.

The crime scene also remained cordoned off and under police guard last night as detectives worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

CCTV footage is being checked and door-to-door enquiries are being carried out.

Detectives want to hear from motorists in the area at the time of the shooting who may have dash cam footage.
