Magistrates fined him £450 and ordered him to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £128 victim surcharge - a government levy payable by all offenders to contribute towards funding services to help the victims of crime.

He was also banned from the roads for 14 months, but was offered a drink driver rehabilitation course, which would reduce his disqualification by 106 days if successfully completed by September 19 this year.
