Dog walker seriously injured in collision in Sheffield city centre

Police officers investigating a collision between a man who was struck by a van while walking his dog in Sheffield city centre want to hear from witnesses.

The man, who officers were initially unable to identify, was walking his dog on West Bar Green when he was involved in a collision with a Citroen Berlingo van, on Tuesday at 5pm.

He was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition and his family has now been made aware of the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
