Disgraced Sheffield carer ordered to repay nearly £300,000 she stole to fund lavish lifestyle

Dianna Turner, aged 56, stole from 10 residents she was supposed to be caring for while she managed Glastonbury Guest House, Abbeyfield Road, Pitsmoor.

Turner, who used the cash to fund a lavish lifestyle – including trips to Dubai and New York – was jailed for seven years after being found guilty of fraud following a trial in 2019.

She stole money through cash withdrawals and standing orders over a nine-year period.

Her victims needed to be in supported living due to suffering from learning difficulties, mental health problems and addictions to drugs and alcohol.

This week Turner was the subject of a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, where a confiscation order for £295,739.45 was made.

Turner has three years to re-pay the cash or faces another three years behind bars.

The prosecution also requested compensation for a number of residents but the judge in the case has asked for more information from the CPS before considering this matter at a later hearing.

Turner, formerly of Wincobank Lane, Sheffield, unsuccessfully appeal against her fraud convictions at the Court of Appeal.

When she was jailed it was calculated that her annual income to be ‘the equivalent of someone with a gross salary not far short of £100,000 per year’.

Jurors were told that she had bought properties to rent out in Dubai and several high value cars including a Range Rover Evoque.
