The man was caught by officers yesterday after he tried to escape on foot when a South Yorkshire Police squad car rammed his vehicle off the road.

Police said the vehicle, which had failed to stop when they asked it to, had been stolen in a burglary and both the driver and his passenger were arrested for a ‘whole host of offences’.
