'Dangerous offender' apprehended after police car chase through Sheffield suburb
A 'dangerous offender' has been apprehended after a police car chase through a Sheffield suburb.
The man was caught by officers yesterday after he tried to escape on foot when a South Yorkshire Police squad car rammed his vehicle off the road.
Police said the vehicle, which had failed to stop when they asked it to, had been stolen in a burglary and both the driver and his passenger were arrested for a ‘whole host of offences’.
A spokesperson said the man’s arrest meant a ‘very dangerous driver and high risk offender’ was now in custody.
“He has been charged with a number of offences and subsequently remanded so won't be back out on the streets anytime soon,” they added.
