Cyclist injured after car crash on busy Sheffield road

A cyclist was injured after colliding with a car on one of Sheffield’s busiest roads.

The crash took place on London Road, close to Budgens supermarket, at around 3.40pm this afternoon (Tuesday, 8 September). South Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service are both at the scene. The extent of the cyclists injuries are not known at this stage. The Star has contacted Yorkshire Ambulance Service for comment.

A photo from the scene shows a person lying on the floor in the road at the crossing next to King’s Flavour chicken shop. A silver Vauxhall Corsa is stopped next to the person with several people in attendance.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police received a report at 3:48pm this afternoon of a road traffic collision between a car and a cyclist on London Road, Sheffield.”
