Cyclist headbutted by thugs who stole his phone as he cycled beside Sheffield canal

Police are trying to trace the men pictured following the attack in Tinsley on Wednesday, July 15, at around 2.30pm.

The victim was reportedly riding along the canal towpath when he passed some men on a bench, one of whom grabbed his headphones, pulling his mobile phone out of his pocket.

He stopped before attempting to ride away but was grabbed from behind and headbutted by one of the group, who then took his bike and left with the rest of the men.

Detective Constable Ryan Griffiths said: “This was a horrible incident and the victim has been left extremely shaken by what happened. If you recognise these men or have any information about what happened, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 781 of July 15.
