CSI officers are examining the house where a baby girl’s body was discovered
CSI officers have spent today examining the house where a newborn baby girl died.
The baby’s death triggered a murder probe yesterday (Sunday, August 30, 2026) and seven arrests were made.
South Yorkshire Police said officers were initially deployed to Holywell Heights, Wincobank, after concerns for the safety of a baby girl were raised.

The force was contacted at 5.58am that day and when officers searched a property the newborn was found.
Police and paramedics both attempted to save the little girl’s life but tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seven people arrested in connection with the death are all being held on suspicion of murder.
Revealing details of the arrests on Sunday night, SYP said officers were “working to determine the ages of some of those arrested”.

At 7am on Monday, August 30, the house at the centre of the murder probe was still under police guard.
It had been cordoned off with police tape.
At midday, the house was still under police guard, with more police cars on the street and CSI officers in the house at the centre of the murder probe.
