A FLAT in Sheffield has been boarded up under ‘crack house’ laws following a police raid.

Officers smashed their way into the property on Owler Lane, Fir Vale, earlier this month and arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

They then went to Sheffield Magistrates’ Court to apply for a ‘crack house’ closure order which prevents anyone from entering the property for a number of months.

The aim is to prevent visitors from calling at all times of the day and night, causing a nuisance for local residents.

Officers initially raided the house following concerns raised in the community.
