Four councillors joined police officers on a Community Speed Watch check near a Chesterfield school.

PC Simon Duddles and PCSO Zoe Blount organised the speed check outside Whitecotes Primary School, on Whitecotes Lane, and were joined by councillors Jenny Flood, Stuart Brittain, Stuart Bradford and Keith Miles.

Community Speed Watch schemes involve local volunteers who are trained to use speed detection equipment.

PCSO Blount said: “Although no one was found to be breaking the speed limit during the check we hope that passing motorists will remember to check their speed while on this stretch of road and have respect for the legal limits, which will in turn help improve the safety for local residents and children.”
