The officers searched the house but before leaving one of the bobbies was captured on a mobile phone picking up a putter and playing crazy golf in Joe’s lounge.

Footage of the incident has been shared online by The Sun, and South Yorkshire Police bosses have confirmed they are investigating.

The female officer missed the glass target and shouted at her colleague: “If you hadn't tapped me I would have got that in.”

Joe, 28, who filmed the incident, told The Sun that officers said there had been reports of an illegal gathering at his home.

Civil engineer Joe said: “They just came in and started looking around.

“I couldn't quite believe it. They'd turned up to bust an illegal house party and ended up playing golf.

“One of them sat down and said 'I'm ever so comfy'.

“They asked what we’d been up to and said they’d had a complaint about a massive party.

“They then picked up some of the golf clubs and started playing.

“They made themselves right at home.”

South Yorkshire Police said: “We have looked into the circumstances which led to this footage and determined that the officers' conduct was not in line with our expectations.

“A meeting with both officers will be held to ensure these concerns and expectations are understood and any learning opportunities are gathered and progressed.”

Earlier this week, the force said it had handed out 186 lockdown fines since October 24 – 70 for breaches of Tier 3 restrictions and the remainder since the second national lockdown was introduced.

Superintendent Paul McCurry, overseeing the policing of rules aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus, said: “On the whole, we are seeing a fantastic level of compliance from people in South Yorkshire.”
