Concerned councillor sends strong gun message after fourth shooting on Sheffield estate

A concerned councillor has reacted to a fourth shooting on a Sheffield estate, stressing ‘guns are not welcome’.

Ben Miskell spoke out after a gun was fired in Villiers Close, Arbourthorne, on Monday night.

It was the fourth shooting on the city estate in two weeks, with three other incidents all reported on Errington Avenue, Eastern Avenue and Errington Way on Tuesday, November 19.

Coun Miskell said: “It’s clear that residents are understandably concerned about the incident on Villiers Close.

“I will continue to liaise with the police and do everything within my power as your councillor to ensure the safety of residents in Arbourthorne is prioritised. Firearms use is not welcome in Arbourthorne or our city.
