Concern over boy seen with knife near Sheffield school as pupils walked home

Police officers were deployed after a youth was see with a knife near to a Sheffield school yesterday.

Officers called to Handsworth Grange Road, close to Handsworth Grange Community Sports College, said a 16-year-old boy was found with a penknife.

The alarm was raised at 3.13pm as pupils were on their way home from school.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers took possession of the knife and returned the boy to his home address.

“Investigations are continuing.”

Nobody was injured during the incident.
