Complaints trigger speed crackdown on Sheffield road
Police have been carrying out speed checks on a Sheffield road following complaints from residents.
Officers from the Parson Cross Team have been enforcing the speed limit on The Wheel, Ecclesfield following feedback from residents at the recent Community Open Forum.
They have been using a speed gun in the area today (Wednesday, January 29) checking motorists are keeping within the 30mph legal limit.
A spokesperson said: “Fortunately the majority of motorists were clocked travelling at appropriate speeds.
“We appreciate that tackling speeding in such locations long-term can only be achieved using a joint approach with partners and the community.
“We all have a role to play in this and we must send a clear message to our friends, family and colleagues that speeding puts lives in danger and is not acceptable.
“We will be in another part of the area over the coming days so please watch that speed.”
