Community service for Barnsley man selling fake designer sunglasses and cycling gear

A Barnsley man was sentenced to 100 hours of community service after pleading guilty to seven offences under the Trade Marks Act after he bought and sold of counterfeit cycling clothing and sunglasses.

Lee Thortersen, aged 50, of Darton, sourced the products from China and sold them through a website he set up, Facebook and eBay.

Over 200 counterfeit items, which if genuine had a retail value of over £12,000, were seized from his home.
