SHEFFIELD is the 11th safest place in the country for university students to live, according to a new guide published today.
The city is ranked 11th out of 20 in a league table based on the number of crimes committed against students.
Bath, Canterbury and Lancaster are ranked as the first, second and third safest places to live, with Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham ranked the worst for crimes against students.
Compiled from official police data, the ranking gives the clearest picture possible of the crime rates in the 25 towns and cities outside London with two or more universities.
The table is based on towns and cities with two or more universities and looks at reports of burglary, robbery and assault.
