A police investigation has been launched after a school bus carrying 24 pupils crashed into a shop in Sheffield this morning.

As shocked children come to terms with their ordeal, here is everything known about the crash so far.

A bus, operated by Central Travel, crashed into Stay Fresh Barbers on Handsworth Road, Handsworth, Sheffield, at 7.50am today.

The bus was carrying 24 students to three schools in Sheffield, including six travelling to Birkdale and 15 heading for Sheffield High School for Girls at the time of the crash.

One child was taken to hospital by ambulance and the parents of some of the others onboard the bus took them for precautionary checks but nobody is believed to have been seriously injured.
