Chesterfield police officers use Twitter

Have your say

Residents in Chesterfield can keep up-to-date with the work of their town centre bobbies now that two have started to tweet from the beat.

PC Stephen O’Callaghan and PCSO Karl Marsh have volunteered to keep in touch with followers from the streets of Chesterfield town centre.

PC O’Callaghan said: “It’s a chance for local people to stay informed about the latest policing information, our patrols and any operations or initiatives we are working on plus we can make crime appeals and share advice on any safety issues affecting the area.”

Derbyshire Constabulary launched its own Twitter account in 2009, using it to share information, news and appeals with the public, and to date is followed by more than 24,000 people.
