Police would like to speak to the two men in connection with an attempted cable theft at the Northern General Hospital

It is believed the men gained access to the roof of the Northern General Hospital and attempted to remove essential cabling at around 3:45pm on Sunday, June 9.

Due to measures in place by the hospital they were not successful.

However, even trying to interfere with this cabling could have had severe consequences for the running of the hospital which, together withthe other hospitals managed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, provides a wide range of specialist services including orthopaedics, renal, heart and lung services and a state of the art, purpose-built Spinal Injuries Unit.
