Cars torched in arson attack in Rotherham

Two cars were torched in an arson attack on two cars in Rotherham.

The vehicles were found burning on Winterwell Road, West Melton, at around 1.50am today.

A police probe into the incident is now under way.

Men broke into Sheffield primary school in attempted lockdown burglary

South Yorkshire Police said: “Both fires were quickly extinguished, and no injuries were sustained.

“Enquiries have led officers to believe that the vehicles were intentionally set on fire.

“Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Did you witness any suspicious people or vehicles in the Oak Lee Avenue area?

“Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area for around the time immediately before or after the incident.”
