Cannabis with a street value of nearly £20,000 and over £25,000 cash was seized in a series of raids across the Dearne Valley.

The joint operation between South Yorkshire Police and Trading Standards saw seven search warrants executed in Wath and Mexborough, with support from specialist firearms teams and police dogs.

Weapons, including air pistols and knives, and counterfeit clothing were also recovered during the raids.

Temporary Detective Inspector Helen Lewis said: “Our efforts continue to tackle criminality in all its forms and the seizures of significant quantities of cash and drugs will go a long way to making communities safer places.”
