A SPEED reduction campaign has been launched on a road where a pensioner died after he was struck by a car.
Residents in Pogmoor want a 20mph speed limit on Pogmoor Road, where there have been four people killed in 10 years.
Danny Mahoney, aged 76, of Wade Street, was struck as he crossed the road close to his home on Monday, March 26.
The calls to reduce the speed limit were made at a meeting of the Pogmoor Area Residents’ Association.
Residents have contacted Barnsley Council asking for a lower speed limit.
They also want a survey carried out to prove how busy the road gets.
