A MAN and a woman were due to appear in court today charged with murder after a the body of a 41-year-old man was discovered in a house in Barnsley at the weekend.
Officers were called to the address in Bartholomew Street on Friday, at about 9.40pm, where the body of Shane Beadling was discovered.
Paramedics attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem has revealed he had died of multiple injuries.
A man and a woman were arrested over the weekend and questioned by detectives.
They were both charged with murder and were due to appear at Barnsley Magistrates Court today.
Garry Count, aged 32, of Bartholomew Street, Wombwell, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Kerry Musgrave, aged 31, also of Bartholomew Street, Wombwell, is charged with the same offences.
Police officers and forensic experts remained at the scene over the weekend carrying out enquiries.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A 41-year-old man found dead at a house in Bartholomew Street, Wombwell, on Friday night has been formally identified as Shane Beadling, of Potterdyke Avenue, Rawmarsh.
“Following a post mortem, the provisional cause of death is multiple injuries.”
