NINE more arrests have been made by detectives investigating the recent naming of Ched Evans’ rape victim on social media sites.
Three men and three women from the Rhyl, Prestatyn and Llanddulas areas of North Wales were arrested in early morning raids today and are being held in custody.
Another woman was arrested in Broughton, Flintshire; and two other men were arrested in Colwyn Bay and Abergele afterwards.
The arrests came after three men were questioned by police in Sheffield last week before being bailed pending further enquiries.
Det Sgt Bob Halford, of North Wales Police, said: “We continue to be proactive in this investigation and anticipate that further arrests will be made in the near future.”
Sheffield United and Wales striker Ched Evans was jailed for five years earlier this month after being found guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room last May.
