A MAN is in hospital with serious injuries after he was shot on a Sheffield estate.
The 28-year-old, who has not yet been named, was shot on Eastern Drive, Arbourthorne, at around 10.40pm last night and was rushed to the Northern General Hospital.
Police said the man managed to get to the McDonald’s Restaurant off the Granville Square roundabout, Sheffield, where emergency services were called.
Today Eastern Drive is cordoned off with police tape and officers are standing guard at all the gennels leading off the street.
An area of grass at the end of the street is also taped off.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “South Yorkshire Police received reports of gunshots at 10.40pm last night on Eastern Drive, Sheffield.
“A 28-year-old local man sustained serious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and is currently being treated at Northern General Hospital.
“The wounded man moved from Eastern Drive to MacDonald’s on Farm Road, Sheffield, where emergency services attended.”
Anyone who was at Eastern Drive or McDonald’s last night and saw or heard anything should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 1,280 of June 24.
