Kulvir Singh was working at the mini market on Robin Lane in Beighton when the terrifying attack took place on Sunday, February 16.

Two robbers had entered the store just before 8am, one of whom stabbed him while the other is believed to have stolen items before both men fled towards the Fox Inn.

“I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love and well wishes," he said.

“It has been a week today since the incident and many people have been asking me what the reason for my swift return was, so I thought will share it on here.

“The reason for my swift return was many children and teenagers in the village look up to me (don’t know why) and if I gave up or didn’t return it’s sending them the wrong message that In life when something knocks you down or hurts you that you give up and cower away.

“That isn’t that message I wanted to send! that definitely isn’t how I live my life. I wanted to show them that you need to get back up and keep trying! So thank you all once more and sorry for the long message.”

Anyone with information about the robbery should call police on 101.
