THE boyfriend of murdered Sheffield mum Michaela Hague today made an emotional appeal for her killer to be caught - as the 10th anniversary of her murder approaches.

Michaela, aged 25, was working as a prostitute on Bonfire Night 2001 when she was picked up by a punter on Bower Street. He took her to waste ground at Spitalfields, stabbed her, and left her dying.

Her partner Mick Holmes, now 41 and living in the Fir Vale area, said: “The person who killed Michaela took more than a partner, he took my soulmate of six years.

“The hardest thing I have ever done is telling my five-year-old son his mum was dead and would not be coming home.

“I want this person caught. I want someone to come forward - give him up, he’s a killer.”

The officer now leading up the inquiry, Detective Superintendent Lisa Ray, made a renewed appeal for help.

She said: “I’d appeal for anyone with information who was in the area that night or even in the days before Michaela’s death to contact us on 0114 296 3713.”
