A teenage boy left fighting for life after a stabbing in Sheffield is now ‘conscious and recovering well,’ according to South Yorkshire Police.

The 17-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds in attack on Winn Gardens, Middlewood, at 1.40pm on Friday, October 23.

He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and remains there today but he is now said to be ‘recovering well’.

South Yorkshire Police said the boy is now conscious.

Detectives investigating the stabbing are treating it as a targeted attack.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder before being released on bail after police questioning.

A 17-year-old boy was held on suspicion of assisting an offender and also bailed while enquiries continue.
