The number 52 service bus involved in the collision was cordoned off earlier while police officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Its damaged front windscreen was visible.

The collision, which happened close to a pedestrian crossing, led to the closure of Retford Road from its junction with Beaver Hill Road.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is continuing this afternoon.
