Boy, 12, still recovering in hospital after shooting in Sheffield

A boy injured in a shooting in Sheffield is still recovering from his ordeal in Sheffield.

The 12-year-old was shot on Northern Avenue, Arbourthorne, at around 3.45pm last Sunday.

He was with a group of teenage friends when a gun was fired from a passing car.

The boy is said to have been an innocent bystander caught up in a few between rival organised crime groups, with the intended target in the area at the time.

Three arrests have been made so far, with two 30-year-old men and a 25-year-old man held on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

One of the 30-year-olds has been bailed but the other two suspects remain in police custody.Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 516 of January 12.
