Sheffield Magistrates’ Court recently heard how Keiron Linaker, aged 24, of Furnace Lane, Woodhouse, kicked one officer and attacked another after he was placed in a police vehicle.

Mr Hughes added Linaker was placed in handcuffs but kicked an officer and when he was placed in a vehicle he tried to put the cuffs over another officer’s head.

Linaker told police he had consumed a lot of gin with a friend and said he had been asleep when he was woken.

Paul Metcalfe, defending, said Linaker is sorry.

Linaker pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer after the incident on January 15.

Magistrates adjourned the case until February 27 to consider a probation report before sentencing.
