A bereaved Sheffield heroin and crack cocaine drug dealer has been put behind bars

Mohammad Sarkhan, aged 30, of Flaxby Road, Darnall, Sheffield, was found by police with heroin and crack cocaine in a car before he fled and was later found at his former home with more class A drugs and £18,000 of ill-gotten gains, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing.
Jessica Strange, prosecuting, told the hearing on October 27 Sarkhan had been a passenger when he refused to follow police instructions and as he stopped police from opening a car door the vehicle started driving and an officer smashed a window.

Hide AdMs Strange added: “The defendant climbed out and there was a struggle between the two. The defendant got away but was identified by a police officer and from blood left on the door of the car.”
Heroin was recovered from the vehicle worth hundreds of pounds and the driver had cocaine in his trainer worth £80 after the incident on May 4, 2018, according to Ms Strange.
Ms Strange added when police went to Sarkhan’s former address seven days later they found £220 of heroin, £340 of crack-cocaine and £18,000 of cash.
The court heard a press and a cash counter were recovered and a phone with drug dealing messages.

Hide AdSarkhan, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing heroin with intent to supply and two counts of possessing crack-cocaine with intent to supply and he admitted possessing criminal property in the form of £18,000.
Andrew Turton, defending, said family and associates submitted references.
He added: “They demonstrate a different side to him as a person who suffered the loss of his parents and when people see the other side to him they see a warm and encouraging person.”
Mr Turton said: “He has had issues with bereavement in relation to both of those parents and he self-medicated to an extreme with drugs and thereby got himself involved in the drug trade.”

Hide AdJudge Graham Reeds QC said Sarkhan had been dealing drugs from a car at Manor Oaks Road, in Wybourn.
He sentenced Sarkhan to four-and-a-half years of custody.
