Barnsley man charged with trafficking offences after drugs seized at border

A Barnsley man has been charged with trafficking offences after drugs were seized by the UK Border Force.

The man was arrested and charged with drug offences after police in Barnsley searched an address on Nursery Street in the town on Friday, March 5.

The property was searched after after the UK Border Force intercepted a package destined for the address which contained approximately 6kg of suspected controlled drugs.

Officers conducted a search of the address on Friday, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of Methadrone (known as M-CAT) and Methadrone mixed with MDMA (also known as ecstasy).

Other substances were also seized which are yet to be identified.

Mareks Dzelz, 33, of Nursery Street was arrested and subsequently charged with conspiracy to import a class B drug, concerned in the supply of class B drugs, and concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He was placed before the courts on Saturday 6 March where he was remanded into custody.
