Banned Sheffield driver was caught behind the wheel with drugs
A banned motorist who was caught driving while disqualified was also found with crack cocaine.
Cole Kirkland, aged 24, of Weakland Crescent, Sheffield, was caught by police driving on Mansfield Road, Sheffield, while disqualified, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing on January 9.
Matthew Duffy, prosecuting, said Kirkland had been seen driving erratically on December 5 and was stopped by police.
Kirkland admitted to police he was banned from driving, according to Mr Duffy.
Mr Duffy added police also found a small wrap of white powder in the vehicle.
Kirkland admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance and admitted possessing the class A drug.
Yvonne Wragg, defending, said Kirkland had been driving his poorly partner to her mother’s home.
Kirkland was sentenced to a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and a rehabilitation requirement.
He was further banned from driving for six months. He must pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
