Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on January 23 how Luke Frost, 25, of Wadsley Lane, Sheffield, was spotted by police driving a Mazda on Penistone Road, Sheffield, on October 6.

Robert Coyne, prosecuting, said Frost was already disqualified for 12 months for totting offences when police saw him at a McDonald’s drive-thru at Hillsborough Barracks and they carried out a check on his vehicle.

John Thompson, defending, said Frost’s former partner and mother of their child had insisted he bring their daughter to her so he made a bad decision to drive the child home.

Frost pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and to driving without insurance.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and was given a further 12-month driving ban. He must pay £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
