Audi smashes into bin and damages shop after high-speed police chase in Sheffield

Flats and a shop were damaged when a car crashed during a police chase in Sheffield overnight.

A police pursuit was mounted when an Audi failed to stop for officers.

It crashed on Ecclesall Road South as it passed Carterknowle Road.

South Yorkshire Police said the car mounted a pavement and collided with a bin, which smashed a shop window and hit the exterior wall of some flats, damaging another window.

The driver was reported for failing to stop and dangerous driving.
