Sheffield North West Neighbourhood Policing Team serving Walkley, Hillsborough and Upperthorpe said a male was arrested for a number of offences after local residents reported occupants of a Silver Nissan Micra acted suspiciously.

In a Facebook post, Sergeant Simon Kirkham said the vehicle was seen going down driveways then running away back to the vehicle before speeding away.

"We submitted a bulletin to colleagues and it was eventually stopped after failing to stop for a police patrol. One person was arrested at the scene and others identified forensically a little later.

"The vehicle was recovered. PC Ben Howell and PC Darcy Hope made the arrest today. Case building and further enquiries continue,” they said.

In a separate incident, the police responded to reports of a male spotted in Walkley dressed in dark clothing going into gardens.

"Today a member of the public provided the team with excellent CCTV image of this chap. We know who he is having arrested him for various matters last year.

"Pc Sarah Forsythe , Pc Max Jackson and Pc Jase Boothby are getting ready to track this chap down. He will be located and arrested.

"If our dishonest 'friend' is reading this post why not save yourself a little time and come to Snig Hill Police Station front desk and ask for the Walkley Team.”
