Officers said the robbers all wore hoods and had their faces covered, and that one was armed with a knife and another a rifle.

They left the store with cash, bottles of alcohol and packets of cigarettes.

It is believed they may have left in a large, dark coloured vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra with an 03 registration plate.

All three men were of thin build and in their late teens to early 20s.

They varied in height, with one 6ft 2ins, the second around 5ft 8ins and the third about 5ft 4ins tall.

It is believed the three men may have been loitering near the railway bridge on Station Road just before the incident.
