Police are hunting four robbers - one of whom was armed with a machete - who held up a couple in their own home in a terrifying raid.

The men burst into the property on Station Road, Killamarsh, and threatened a man and woman with violence.

They then punched the man in his face while they raided his home.

Police said they escaped with cash and jewellery and ran way from the home following the raid at 8.30pm on Sunday.

Detectives investigating the robbery want to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area before or afterwards.

They sealed off the crime scene and carried out door to door inquiries in the area, asking if anyone had seen or heard anything.

Detectives are also investigating a raid at the Royal Oak, Eckington Road, Coal Aston, over the weekend.

The pub was broken into between 1am and 7.30am on Saturday.

Police said the rear fire door was forced open to gain entry.

The bar area was searched and cash was stolen from the till and safe.

Anyone with information about either incident should call Derbyshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
