Armed robber holds up pharmacy for cash

A robber armed with a screwdriver held up a South Yorkshire pharmacy - threatening a member of staff while demanding cash.

The culprit, who is being hunted by police, struck at the pharmacy on Wath Road, Mexborough, at 12.50pm on Friday, June 21.

He left the shop when the member of staff handed over money from the till.

Police officers hunting the offender have released CCTV images in the hope that somebody may recognise him.

He had his face covered by the white jacket, which was zipped up with the hood pulled over his head.

The robber, who was around 5ft 8ins, slim, and spoke with a local accent, was wearing beige trousers and holding a carrier bag.
