Armed police swarm property near Sheffield city centre following Doncaster stabbing

Armed police flooded a quiet street near Sheffield city centre to arrest a man on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Doncaster.

Two men, aged 26 and 19, were arrested at a property on Furnace Hill, just off Gibraltar Sreet, at around 6.50pm on Wednesday in connection with the stabbing of a 26-year-old man on Monday afternoon in Balby.

The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while the 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody.

The victim, found with stab wounds to his chest, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A 30-year-old man arrested earlier this week on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further enquiries. A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Tuesday has also been bailed pending further enquiries.
