Armed police swarm estate and helicopter circling after 'shots fired'

Armed police are patrolling the streets in the area around Aldesworth Road, Cantley and police and ambulance helicopters are also understood to have been deployed in the area.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a number of shots have been fired either at or inside a property in the area.

Residents have reported seeing a number of police vehicles in streets in the area, with armed officers searching properties and gardens.

It is understood streets have been cordoned off.

One eyewitness said a number of men had burst into a house – after which a number of shots were heard.

Others have reported seeing police activity in Levet Road while others have spoken of officers on patrol in Cantley Park.
