The 27-year-old was attacked by two men outside the Masons Arms pub on Bawtry Road, Wickersley at around 10.50pm on Sunday.

He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

Following the incident, a 19-year-old man was arrested and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.

The police are now looking for the second man who they believe holds further information.

The man is believed to have been wearing a grey tracksuit with a hoody up, covering his face.
