A climbing frame has been damaged in a vandalism attack in a north Derbyshire park.

Police are now investigating the attack on Blacks Lane, North Wingfield, which was committed between 4pm on Monday, April 29 and noon on Wednesday, May 5.

PCSO Dave Bull said: “The park is only about six months old and cost the parish council about £50,000 to install.

“The climbing equipment has suffered damage which is beyond repair, which means local children have lost a facility put in for their enjoyment, while repairs are carried out.

“We won’t tolerate any kind of anti-social behaviour and will be putting on patrols and working with the council to target those responsible.”
