Alleyway between Sheffield pubs taped off by police as officers stand guard

The crime scene runs between The Beehive and Cavendish pubs on West Street to Pitt Street at the other end.

Both ends of the alleyway are sealed off and under police guard to prevent members of the public contaminating the crime scene before forensics experts arrive.

Police said a man had suffered a broken jaw, a cut to his head and lost two front teeth in a ‘sustained attack’.
