Hide AdClayton attempted to leave the pub via a back door, according to Mr Shaw, and as he was confronted by a female police officer standing at the top of some steps he pushed past her.
Mr Shaw added police found Clayton had white powder in a clenched fist and he had 17 packages of cocaine with a street value of between £640 and £1,280 as well as £146 in cash.
Police also found two mobile phones one of which had messages that were consistent with the defendant being involved in drug-dealing, according to Mr Shaw.
Clayton, who has a previous drug-related conviction, pleaded guilty to possessing class A drug cocaine with intent to supply and to assaulting an emergency worker after the incident on July 26, 2019.

Hide AdJames Baird, defending, said: “It occurred at a time when he was undergoing considerable stress and to relieve that stress he started going out and it led to him taking cocaine.
"And because of that lifestyle he got more and more in debt and he was effectively prevailed upon to sell drugs to pay off the money he owed.”
Mr Baird added Clayton had kept out of trouble for the last 13 years and he has since found a job and he and his partner are expecting a child to be born in September.
He said: “For the last 13 years up until these matters he had kept himself out of trouble until spiralling down.”
